Crock Pot Caramalized Onions

Caramalized onions can add such a wonderful flavor to so many dishes, but you need to cook them slowly which can take a while.  I saw this tip on Pinterest about making them in the crock pot and thought I'd give it a try. They said you can keep them in a jar in your fridge or keep them in the freezer for later use. I thought it would be so nice to have them ready and waiting to add to my recipes.

Peel and slice onions and place in your crock pot.  I used 5 large onions but you could certainly use more to fill up your crock pot.  Put the lid on.  Cook on low for 12 hours.  Yep that's all you do so here we go.

They look nicely caramalized to me.   I'm anxious to try them in a recipe

  1. This look delicious - I love that it's made without any added butter - very healthy! (I found your blog when I clicked on a quilty link that someone had pinned to their Pinterest board - I saw this recipe on the side of the post and it caught my eye, lol!).
